Over a lifetime, this writer has done many things – a little bit, of a lot of things – to put it another way. As you read, you may wonder “did she make that bit up”? And the answer is quite likely “yes – because it suited the story’.
But then again, the wilder the sentence you’re questioning, the more likely the answer is: “no, that really happened, to someone who may or may not have been me”.
She was a semi-finalist in the 2019 NYC Midnight Microfiction competition and has been awarded Story of the Week by Fifty Word Stories.
